The Green Life... Being "Bio" in Providence
Hey, it's not that hard being 'écolo' in the U of S! Sure, you'll have to forgo the pleasures of Dunkin' Donut's, MacKing and Co. But here is your new shopping venue: Wholefoods supermarket, one out of MANY organic supermarkets in Providence. Offers: organic everything (milk, flour, fruit, ... pizza dough - I tried it, it triples in size over night, must be lots of very alive bacteria in there). And here it comes: Next week they will show you how to CONVERT YOUR CAR to RUN ON VEGGIE OIL. Anyone in Prov on August 15?
Downturn of this story: (1) Trains are great, but so expensive that you would actually run more cheaply on Bernulli olive oil. (2) Class, class, class: If you want to enjoy peaceful shopping among other white left-leaning intellectuals with several university degrees and an o.k. bank account, well, then Wholefoods is the place to be. If you want to meet the rest of the people, you might need to revert back to the Dunkins, MacKings and FamilyDollars of this country.
